About Soma Movement
Live your best possible life with Soma Movement!
Allie offers private sessions both in studio through the studio website and virtually through alliesoma.com. https://www.alliesoma.com/
In our fast-paced world, it's easy to remain disconnected from our bodies, leading to discomfort and imbalance. Engaging in a slower, somatically based practice can positively impact things like fatigue, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, body image, and all the others things that can make our body feel more like the enemy than a friend. Slowing down and paying attention can also help create more organization and integration in your body. This leads to better coordination and self-regulation. As a somatically-based movement teacher, I help you understand your body and it's patterns, enhancing your physical, mental, and spiritual health. Through embodied, developmental movement and learning, you can discover greater ease, resilience, and vitality. Conscious embodiment is the key to holistic health, fostering a harmonious connection between mind, body, and spirit for optimal well-being.
At Soma Movement, I'm not just guiding you through physical exercises—I'm inviting you to join a movement. Together, we reconnect with our bodies as sources of deep support and intelligence. This journey is about more than just exercise; it’s about questioning and redefining the value systems we've been taught about our bodies, their worth, and our ownership of them. I help you reclaim your body as a powerful and wise part of who you are, not something to be judged or controlled. This is a path toward holistic health and wellness, where the focus is on inner awareness, self-compassion, and authentic movement.
Somatic practices can offer the following benefits
Improve breathing, posture, relieve anxiety and stress.
Improve physical fitness and athletic performance at any level.
Increase mobility, coordination, joint health, and ease of movement.
Increase internal body awareness (interoception) which improves emotional regulation and the physiological response to pain.
Who Needs Private Sessions?
Private sessions are an excellent choice for anyone who needs or prefers individualized training and guidance. Also a wonderful foundational introduction before entering group classes.
Benefits of Private Sessions.
One on one sessions include an initial movement and postural assessment so that training plans can be created based on the specific needs of the student. Teachers keep track of progress, needed modifications, and are able to combine multiple movement modalities into a session.
What To Expect.
Whether in the studio or virtually, the first thing we like to do is get to know you. Your story, goals, and any other pertinent information not covered on the registration form. We also want to give you time to ask us anything you would like either about your session or us. We want you to feel comfortable and know you are half the team and have a voice in your sessions. The rest of your first session and onwards will introduce you to movement practices geared towards your needs.
